I was really there to hunt taxi cabs. Each time one went by it might have seemed like I had won the lottery. It became a bit of game for me to watch for the perfect compositions to pass by. The architecture of the Beverly Wilshire with the awnings and flags had drawn me to this location for the hunt. During the first sketch, I met a man in a bike helmet who looked like a security guard. He was actually a retired security guard who spent his days biking around downtown looking for people to help.
