"Running Indigo"  2008, acrylic and oil on canvas,  48" x  42" collection of Tina Follett

This painting began at midnight new years of 2006. I covered the canvas in horses, but eventually they felt too wild. The latest layer of purple developed at 3 am; I fell asleep standing up painting. The title includes the base layer of running horses and a visions inspired by the encouragement of Tina Follett.

"A Kellen Story"  2010, oil on canvas, 46" x  57", collection of Darci & Zach Kellen

This painting contains the eifel tower and ever single memory I can associate with my dear friends the Kellens.

"Moving Forward"  2006, oil on canvas, 33" x  57" collection of Claudio Masnicoff

a catalogue of moving through fears

"Dancing Frau"  2003,  oil on canvas  36" x 24"  collection of Maura & Adam Smith

created after a 2 year residency in Germany working with US Military children. "Dancing Frau" helped me process leaving 120 little souls I'd spent 50-70 hrs a week with. The use of pink represented my heart, which felt like it was bleeding at the time.

"Red Bird Death"  2005 oil on canvas, 54.3" x  53" collection of Mr. & Mrs. Rodney Smith

This painting reflected a time when I started to understand that the stories we tell in our minds show up with messages in our bodies, sometimes in the form of illness. This painting to me is about healing. I also saw an image of what looked like a wounded Native American with a red bird sitting on his head, hence the title.

"Pregnant Lady"  2002 oil on canvas, 39.3" x  27.3"

inspired by a piece of hair swirled on the wall that looked like a pregnant woman. painted on the same day a dear friend gave birth.

"Walk Like A Woman"  2001, oil on canvas board, 20" x  16" collection of Anne Barnhart

I painted this at about 3 in the morning after returning from a party. It's about the frustration I felt walking alone at night. I thought if I could perhaps walk like I didn't have hips, I would feel safer. There is also poem that goes with this painting.
